Allium Christophii.   Plant this at the edge of the border or in pots where you are sure to see them.  They are unbelievably intricant and metallic domes of star shaped flowers.  This is an incredible bulb to give many years of pleasure.  Flowers in June.  Height 60 cm. Leave spent flowerheads in place for birds this variety should slowly self seed and naturalise.
 
Alliums like a sunny spot in well drained soil.  All bulbs prefer good drainage and we strongly recommend adding grit, gravel or sand to planting holes to aid drainage.
