Airy sprays of tiny, long-lasting, pompom-like flowers, form on slender dark purple stems above frothy mounds of fern-like, grey-green leaves. Thalictrum is a much sought-after variety of meadow rue, which looks really stylish when towards the back of a moist herbaceous border. The flowers and foliage will also look great when cut for the vase.
