A must have for the garden.  Dramatic umbels of tiny lilac flowers floating magically on tall, slim branches, reaching heights of 2 metres while needing no support.  While not completely hardy and guaranteed to return, it's worth including in your planting scheme as it will self seed very gently each year thus ensuring it's return albeit in a slightly different position.  In dry soils and full sun with sheltered conditions the parent plant will thrive for many years.  After planting it once, you'll never want to be without it.  It adds an effortless architectural and contemporary height to your summer border.  Leave faded flowers to become seed heads and don't cut back any old growth until Spring. Loves full sun, but can handle dappled shade and semi sun conditions.
